Mission and Goals

The Protecting Pollinators in Urban Landscapes Conference is an opportunity for researchers, educators and practitioners to exchange information, ideas, and experiences related to pollinator health and conservation in urban and ornamental landscapes.

The goals of the conference are to:

  • provide educators, public gardens personnel, and other practitioners with up-to-date, research-based information relevant to creating and managing pollinator-friendly urban landscapes
  • identify key needs and knowledge gaps that can be addressed by future research
  • share approaches, tools, progress, and challenges in real-world urban conservation and education programs
  • foster open-minded and fact-based discussion among all participants
The Protecting Pollinators in Ornamental Landscapes Conference 2022 is planned jointly by Michigan State University, North Carolina State University, the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, and the University of Georgia.
